Tamaki Aizawa ( 相澤魄姫; Aizawa Tamaki ) also known as the Thread Hero: Jorogumo ( 絡新婦; Jorogumo) is a pro hero, and the homeroom teacher of U.A High School's Class 3A . She is also the elder sister Shota Aizawa.

Appearance

Tamaki is slender and tall, pale-skinned woman with long, wavy black hair and black eyes. Her bangs part in the middle, and she usually ties her hair into a ponytail when working and leaves her hair down and has a red ribbon tied on the back of her head when she's not working. In the Final War, her hair was cut by Toga's Clones so after the war ended, she cuts her hair short.Her hero outfit consist of a crop turtleneck with an open area on the chest, a black shorts. she wears a black long loose-sleeved jacket on top and a pair of high-heeled boots. In her high school year and in summer, she wears the same outfit just shorter length for her jacket sleeve.Her formal attire for press meetings and meetings with parents of her students includes a black suit with white dress shirt underneath and a pair of black dress pants.In her free time, she wears many types of clothing but when she's relaxing in her staff apartment, Tamaki wears a loose black shirt with long sleeves and shorts.

Personality

Despite her being seemingly more carefree and energetic than her younger brother, Tamaki is always portrayed as cheerful yet mature woman who cares deeply for those around her. She is shown to have low self-esteem and possible self-loathing for being weaker than her younger brother.She appears to be relatively calm during battle, even when their situation isn't good. Despite her more gentle nature, she's very stubborn and tend to fight until she shatter in battle.Tamaki can be very perceptive, as she can somewhat understand people just by looking at their faces. She is also able to form detailed and eerily accurate hypotheses of crime scenes based on evidence she observes.As a teacher, Tamaki is very serious and reliable, having her students always asks her advice for a lot of things other than their studies. Tamaki genuinely cares about her students and will go to great lengths to protect them.Tamaki is also quite nurturing, she takes cares of Shota and teases him as a sister would. She is also very supportive and openly supports Shota's choices.

Overall Abilities: Tamaki has demonstrated incredible combat prowess and ingenuity that makes her one of the most formidable teachers and Pro Heroes at U.A. High. Tamaki's usual battle tactic consists of using her threads to defeat and restrain her enemies. Tamaki also relies on her proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, excelling in close quarters combat.Immense Stamina: On multiple occasions, Tamaki was able to keep fighting on even after suffering significant and painful injuries.Immense Agility: She is extremely agile and flexible. Her balance is also incredible, as shown when she stood on and sometimes jumped onto single strands of hair.Suspended Weaponry: Using her threads, Tamaki was capable of controlling objects from a distance, such as an enemy's sword, which made for unorthodox and effective combat. She usually attaches her threads to her integral daggers to control them from distanceKeen Intellect: Like her younger brother, Tamaki had been seen to have keen observation and evaluation skills. She can quickly tell if someone is telling the truth or not just by looking into their eyes. She is also able to form detailed and eerily accurate hypotheses of crime scenes based on evidence she observes.Teaching Ability: she is quite strict and and straightforward towards her students, reminding her students of the responsibilities they will have as Pro Heroes. She tends to give personal advice to each students after class and also out of class when her students need her.

Integral Dagger: Jorogumo has a total of 6 integral daggers. She usually use it to cut her threads. she can also use it for close ranged combat.
Gas Lighter: A customized lighter able to burn her threads. She got this idea when she works as a team with Endeavor.

Quirk

Threads (糸; Ito): Tamaki's Quirk gives her the ability to create sharp, strong, and thin Carbon Nanofiber Threads from her fat cells and control it. The more she eats, the more thread she can make.This aspect of Tamaki's Quirk is the reason for her slim figure, as she constantly burns her fat to create threads. It is also a significant weakness because if she generates too much without replacing her calories, she can become weak and anemic.

Ultimate Moves

Crimson Orb-Weaver : Tamaki is capable of capturing and restraining her opponents using her thread, preventing them from moving freely and hanging them if necessary. She also uses this to create a net to catch people or rubbles.Seventh Hell : the thread restrains the target and ignites the target through the thread, resulting in an explosion.Cocoon Mist : Tamaki creates a spherical cage from threads to protect her or her surroundings from an attack.Thread Gun: Tamaki wraps her threads into a small ball and flicks it at the opponent.

  • Tamaki's given name "魄姫" has the character "魄" that means "soul, spirit" (魄; Tama), with the other character meaning "princess" (姫; ki). Her surname also has the character (相; ai) which can mean "Mutual" or "Councilor". The other kanji character means "swamp" (澤; zawa).

  • Tamaki is a brocon. Her Love for Shota is extraordinary and overwhelming.

Backstory

Tamaki is the older sister of Shota and the oldest child in Aizawa Household. Tamaki was born on summer on 15th of August. She grew up as a tomboy and quiet child, rarely speaking and limiting her words even when she's with her parents. Making her parents worried about her social life in the future.As she grew up, she discovered her quirk, accidentally hung herself upside down after almost falling from a tree when saving a cat who couldn't come down from a high branch.When she turns 9, Shota was born. After that, Tamaki starts to smile and talk more around Shota, .Their parents thought that she's progressing to be more sociable, but the second she was seperated from Shota, she revert back to her quiet self. In the end, her parents let her take care of Shota most of the time, making their relation the closest among family.When she enters junior high, Tamaki met Kaina Tsutsumi. They were classmates. Seeing Tamaki who isolates herself from the rest of the class, Kaina starts to talk to her often until Tamaki gave up and eventually the two became best friends. With Kaina around, Tamaki stars to talk more and gained more friends. Kaina was the one who suggest that Tamaki should become a hero because of her quirk is useful in fighting crimes.As Tamaki enters High School, she was accepted at U.A. High School through an official recommendations. She works hard everyday to become hero and found out that she has exceptional observation and evaluation skill while doing her hero work-study by helping the police solving a complicated murder case. She became one of 'The Big Three' in her time.After Graduating from high school, Tamaki continue to Study in College with the recommendation of her homeroom teacher in high school, taking a Psychology course while working as her best friend, Kaina's sidekick as part time.When she heard the news about Kaina's betrayal, Tamaki was the one who was sent to capture Kaina. Even though she doesn't want to, with a heavy heart, she did the job. After Kaina was sent to prison, Tamaki visits a few times, asking Kaina the reason she killed the head commissioner and the visiting time always ended without answer.After the incident, Tamaki was unactive as a hero until she graduates college, at that time U.A. High School's principal visited her and recruited her as a teacher for her observation and evaluation skill. After a few months working as a Japanese literature teacher and a counselor, Tamaki was able to work as a solo underground hero.

Shota Aizawa
Shota is Tamaki's 9 years old apart Younger Brother. Despite the differences of their personality, with Shota is more calm and composed while Tamaki is more carefree and cheerful, they get along very well as siblings and co-workers. Tamaki also helps Shota as Eri's co-custodian.
Even though they get along, Tamaki's relationship with Shota is complicated. She admire and love her younger brother, but also envy and resent them for being much stronger in physique, undermining her smaller and slimmer body. Shota himself thinks of Tamaki's insecurities as irrelevant and irrational. Nonetheless, they both care very much for each other and Tamaki was glad that Shota is her younger brother.

Hizashi was a former student of Tamaki at U.A. and they are quite close since he is one of Shota's close classmate back then. The two get along well as they both have cheerful personality. They got even closer as she's the only female that was close with Shota back then. As co-workers in U.A. the two love spending time together gossiping about the students or youth in general at lunch time.

As the homeroom teacher of U.A.'s Class 3-A, Tamaki cares a lot about the safety and well-being of her students and she's willing to sacrifice her own life to protect them from danger. She desires the best from her students when it comes to heroism, and isn't afraid to push them in that regard. She regurally gives praises and suggestion to her students, and cheering up her students when they fail and pushes the to never give up.However, she is also extremely strict and does not hesitate to criticize and scold them when they make bad decisions that endangered their lives.Overall, Tamaki is loved dearly by her students even after they graduated.

Tamaki and Kaina was a childhood frend who went to the same Middle School then went to different High School. She went to college as she works as Hero as Kaina's partner. She was the one who capture Kaina when Lady Nagant was deemed as a Traitor to the Hero Commission.
When Hawks and Izuku brought her back, she couldn't hold back her tears as she hugged and thanked them for bringing her best friend back.Endeavor
Tamaki works with Enji once on Tamaki work-studies. As Tamaki holding back a Villain from escaping, she told Enji to burn her thread to knock the villain out with the risk of her also burning. From that incident, the two developed Hell Spider (Enji) and Seventh Hell (Tamaki).

Tamaki has also been somewhat of a guardian for Eri, sometimes taking charge of her care as she lives with the U.A. faculty in the dorms. Eri is comfortable with Tamaki's presence and listens to her well.
Tamaki has been helping Shota at attempting to train Eri to control and use her Rewind Quirk at will by comforting her and helping her recover from her psychological trauma.
Due to her role as Eri's custodian, Tamaki also has a degree of influence over whom she interacts with, primarily relying on Mirio Togata on assistance with looking out for her since Eri is most comfortable with Mirio's presence.
